Newsec Energy Transition (fka. Newsec Infra) is delighted to have acted as the exclusive financial advisor to InfraRed Capital Partners (InfraRed) on the minority stake sale in Twin Peaks onshore wind farm to Infranode, a Nordic infrastructure investment manager.
The minority sale comprising a 25% shareholding interest, on behalf of one of InfraRed’s private European core infrastructure strategies, will enable InfraRed to realise the value created through the construction process and to recycle capital.
Twin Peaks is a substantial renewable energy asset located in central Sweden, approximately 100km from Östersund. The Project is comprised of two operational wind farms with 39 x 6.2MW Siemens turbines giving a combined capacity of 242MW. Twin Peaks can power over 45,000 homes and is supporting Sweden’s progress towards its 2045 net-zero carbon emissions target.
InfraRed acquired the whole Twin Peaks project in 2021 from Arise, a Swedish renewable energy company, and construction commenced shortly afterwards. InfraRed’s asset management team was heavily involved throughout the construction phase providing oversight and guidance, with Twin Peaks becoming operational on 30 April 2024 on time and on budget.
Ben Smith, Director, InfraRed Capital Partners, said: “We appreciated the excellent support from Newsec Energy Transition in helping us secure a strong partner for this project.”
Omid Ashrafi, Managing Partner at Newsec Energy Transition commented: “We have had the pleasure of following Twin Peaks since InfraRed’s pre-construction acquisition from Arise and are thankful for the vote of confidence having been appointed as an advisor on this minority sale shortly after the start of operations”.
