Newsec Energy Transition (fka. Newsec Infra) is delighted to have acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Alterric (GER) on the 100% sale of the 46 MW Gabrielsberget North operating wind farm to Downing.
The Gabrielsberget North wind farm (GBN) consisting of 20 Enercon 2.3 MW turbines is located in the municipality of Nordmaling, ca 50km from Umeå in Northeastern Sweden. The wind farm was originally developed and constructed by Svevind and Enercon as a cluster, comprising of Gabrielsberget North and South, having reached COD in 2012. Newsec Energy Transition advised on the sale of the Gabrielsberget South back in 2021 to Downing as well.
Through this acquisition, Downing is further strengthening its portfolio in renewable energy in Sweden.
Alterric is one of Central Europe’s largest green power companies with a current portfolio of about 2,4 GW. Alterric develops, constructs, and operates onshore wind farms and has a current development pipeline of 9,4 GW. Following a strategic review, Alterric has decided to exit from the Nordics and thus the initiation of this divestment.
Tobias Gottschalk, Head of M&A, Alterric, commented on the collaboration:
